Customised Cakes

Customised means you have a say in how you want the cake to look like!  What you like or how you want it to look like is as important it is to you as it is to me.  Why?  Cos if you are happy, I am happy.  Essentially this applies to all tiered cakes, wedding cakes or cakes that you want made to look like something…object, animal, logo, etc.

We basically have TWO types of frosting, Soft and Hard icing.

Soft icing cakes

Now what is the main difference, you may ask… Basically, soft icing means it is either buttercream, cream cheese or chocolate ganache frosting.  You need to refrigerate the cake and the finish is not as smooth and matte as hard icing.  But it is definitely yummylicious!

Hard icing cakes

Hard icing cakes on the other hand are mainly fondant cover.  We cover the cake with a layer of dark choc to hold it in shape, follow by a layer of marzipan mix.  Then we cover with another layer of fondant in the colour of your choice.  You may say, “It’s a lot of layering!”  You are right!  Therefore, due to the ingredients required and labour involved, the prices are indicative of this fact.   You would also ask me why are there so many layers involved?  The many layers are essential for a well protected and covering to maintain its form.  Cos you know what, hard icing covered cakes required NO refrigeration. The finish is matte and smooth to touch.  It has allowed more room for creativity.  So for those who dare to let your imagination run wild, hard icing is the way to go!  It is also strongly recommended for weddings and outdoor event!
